My best ever wheat recipe

So, what to do with all that flour that's been sitting in the pantry since we went low-carb/primal?
I don't bake my famous scones (god they were good!) or bread anymore, nor do I make my once-favourite pasta (note to self - put the pasta machine on ebay), so Mrs Shmaltz had an absolutely fantastic idea...
  • 2 cups flour
  • 4 tablespoons cream of tartar
  • 2 tablespoons cooking oil (good way to get rid of some of that old rancid vegetable oil)
  • 1 cup salt
  • food colouring
  • 2 cups water

Mix the above ingredients in a saucepan, and stir over medium heat for 3-5 mins, until the mixture congeals.

What a great way to recycle waste accumulating in the pantry!
Kept the kids entertained for hours.

  1. Argh! And I just tossed mine in the back of the yard. On the upside, it looked so non-food/glue'ish in 1 day, I haven't missed it.
